Susan Pymble and Christopher de Doby established French Travel Connection in 1992. Their intention was to create a small boutique travel company, which unlike most that try to sell every single destination in the world, generally quite badly, will specialise in one destination only. From humble beginnings the business grew to become one of the leading French travel companies in the world. Today it offers what is probably the most comprehensive French travel product range in the world as well as the largest web site with nearly 3000 pages of quality products. In 2004 Christopher and the French Travel Connection were named as "the best French travel specialist in the world" by the French Minister for tourism and the French government tourist bureau. in 2004 Christopher was invited to become a member of the International Advisory Board to the French government tourist office. In 2006 Christopher was awarded the "Gold Medal for tourism" by the French Minister for tourism, for outstanding services for the French tourism industry..
